How the boards rank you

The five levers that decide performance

Every major board — Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, Google for Jobs — ranks a posting the way an ad platform ranks an ad: relevance × predicted apply rate × bid. A thin or vague posting loses on all three, and quietly overspends. These are the levers, in order of impact.

1
Job title
The strongest match signal — boards normalize it to a standard occupation. Use the exact title candidates search; no req codes.
2
Pay transparency
A real range pulls more, better applicants and is legally required in many states. “Competitive” counts as nothing.
3
Location clarity
One clean location so boards can geo-match. Remote? Say the region. Hybrid? Name the on-site days.
4
Completeness
Fill every structured field; 300–700 scannable words. Google for Jobs eligibility depends on it.
5
Engagement
Front-load the hook (most applies are mobile), keep must-haves to 3–5, short apply, inclusive language.

One posting is a start. A whole feed is the opportunity.
